About Us & Our Work Philosophy
In early 1992 Our first mattress set was purchased over the phone at about five in the afternoon on a sunny, cool January day in St. Petersburg, FL. This certain lady needed a "lovely & comfortable" queen pillow-top mattress set by 6:30 PM for a guest arriving at her home in St. Petersburg, FL about 8:00 PM.
That is the beginning of what is now known as Trotter Mattress Distribution. My initial exposure to the mattress business came in fall of 1990. I had no plans of seeking this venture, and was suddenly asked, by a close friend during a phone call, if I would help deliver a mattress... "She" started a very small part-time business for extra income. I responded, "Sure, but you must be joking...". So, with some "muscle" as needed, I was soon delivering mattresses part-time and speaking with a couple of mattress manufactures. Wow, seems like yesterday...
With help over the years from trust-worthy mentors of great-integrity, the business grew into a full-service, residential & commercial mattress-manufacturer's representative and wholesale distributor. The warehouse-model, know nationwide as the Peterson Distribution Model was taught to me by Mr. Peterson in the later 1990s (Thank you Mr. Peterson). Many years spent at his right hand learning from him, convinced me and him, I was able to duplicate it as well as implement a discount-retail operation. Today, the three facets of the business work in concert to cover the needs of both mattress buyers and resellers as we reach the entire United States and Canada.
We have a distinguished reputation for providing our clients with customized service and products for "The Best Night's Sleep They've Ever Had". Our services began in 1992 in Florida, migrated to New England in 2003, as the Orders brothers of Greenville, SC put me on the map! They graciously granted (Thank you to the Orders brothers) Trotter Mattress Distribution the right to represent their trust-worthy mattress manufacturing business, Park Place Corporation in 2003 through 2010, to all of New England and in many cases beyond.
We simply represent quality manufacturers producing mattresses under contracted "brand name" labels as well as their own "trademarked" labels. Our volume contracts with manufacturers creates capacity required to regulate mattress production efficiency.
Our time-valued relationship with manufacturers results in low pricing to retail consumers as well as resellers.

These highly-prized beautiful mattress sets are not just sitting around waiting for someone to buy, they are custom built to customers..
* I'm informed the Hotel, located in the heart of Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA must have this by early-afternoon to meet guest expectations. My thinking at the time is "this is how we've grown, what a great opportunity!"
* Yes, the model was in stock (we stock the best Serta Hotel models).
* Yes, I have the ability and desire to serve.
* Yes, it is Winter, cold and a very busy Friday, and the metropolitan Boston traffic...
* Yes! I delivered by 2:30PM. Thank you Lisa, Brenda and Chad!
